Hello everyone,

I’m facing an issue when trying to connect an export license to a part on a Customer Order in IFS Cloud.

  • I have created an export license with the following validity dates:
    • Effective From: 06-Oct-2025
    • Expires: 11-Jul-2026
  • The license status is Approved, and all basic data is in place:
    • Classification, Scheme, Codes, Authorizations
    • Part basic data with End Usage
    • End Usage setup matches the license configuration

However, when I attempt to connect the license to the part, I receive the following error:

“Cannot Connect License, Check Effective From Date and Expire Date in Export License.”

The dates on the license are valid, so I’m unsure why this error occurs.
Has anyone experienced this before or can provide guidance on what else might need to be checked?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @MCbra,

Even though the license validity dates look correct, there are a few subtle checks the system performs that can cause this error. IFS validates whether the Customer Order’s Wanted Delivery Date (or CO Date) falls within the license’s validity period. If the license’s Effective From date is 06-Oct-2025, but the CO line’s Wanted or Delivery Date is set to a date before 06-Oct-2025, the system will reject the connection with the relevant error. To resolve this, review the Customer Order header and line dates, particularly the Wanted Delivery Date and Planned Delivery Date, and make sure they are on or after 06-Oct-2025. If the CO line was originally created before the license’s effective date, you may need to adjust the dates or recreate the line after the license becomes valid.
