Hi all,

I have a problem with time types and resource groups in IFS Cloud / MWO App.

The Situation is, that we have one Resource Group, which contains all other Resource Groups of our different entities.
The Reason is, that all resources need to be able to enter the time types in the MWO App independent on where they are in the world and which entity planned them.

Now I have the problem, that not always the correct resource group is selectable in the MWO App. Sometimes its there and sometimes not. Independent of Task or Bundle Task or in which entity the resource is employed.
For example 2 resources from the US, both working an Request Work Tasks, both identically set up.

One can select the correct Time Types and one cant.

Has anyone ever had similar issues?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Christian, time types are site-specific as they are associated to sales parts, do both US users have access to the same sites?

Morning Alexander,

yes, both resources have access to the site.

The Resource Group is set up as follows:
We have one Global Group, that contains all other Resource Groups. In the entity resource groups the individual employees are listed.

And I can only select the Global Resource Group in the Time Type. Something feels off, but I cant put my finger on it.

Regards,

Chris

Your screenshot of the resource groups is trimmed, is “Use in Service” active? Can you try to enable “Use in Maintenance”?

Sorry, my bad. All Resource Groups are set up for “Use in Service”.

I added the “Use in Maintenance” flag, without any improvements.

That’s weird. When using Requests, you should see all Resource Groups of companies that you are associated to, there is no additional where clause on the sync rule. And when they have site access, they must have company access as well…

Can you enable the DB Viewer for the 2 users and see what resource_groups are downloaded?

Btw, I also have hierarchical resource groups and see all of them under the time types, so it should work. Are your resource groups also connected to the right company (not just the resources)?

I dont know, what the DB Viewer is, sorry.

EDIT: Found it.

Which of these tables is the correct one?
The User here can select the correct Time Type for normal Tasks, but the Resource Group is then empty. And only the Resource Group TR-GERMANY can be selected with the correct time types.
For Bundle Tasks, the Resource Group is always TR-GERMANY, even if the Resource Demand in the Bundle Task is set to TR-GLOBAL. And if the Resource Group is removed / set to None, the Resource field is empty and cant be populated anymore.

Empty Resource field after removing the Resource Group TR-GERMANY
Correct Time Types with empty Resource Group field

Running out of ideas, hard to assess remotely... @skullk do you have other ideas?

Database Viewer and other MWO topics just fyi:

Hello again,

are there any more ideas regarding this topic?

We are still facing the same problems.

I now added each Resource Group to the corresponding non-inv sales part.
For some resources that solved the issue, but others still cant see and select any time types in the MWO App.

Regards,

I would create a support ticket so that engineers can look at the specific setup, hard to guess from outside.

Hi Alexander,

turned out, the problem was caused by something completely different.

We had troubles with the entire inventory being loaded to each Technicians App. This filled some table and caused the Refresh all inventory background job to fail.

Due to the table being completely filled, other data could not be loaded properly (I presume).

Now, that this problem is solved and every user is connected to at least an empty warehouse, the data can be loaded completely and the Technicians see all the time types and cost categories.

I will close this Question now.

Thanks,
Chris
