Deare All,

i came across a strange situation when creating/updating prices for Service Contract - Service Lines.

When we create a ‘New Service Line’ we can use the invoice Type = ‘Invoice Plan’ what gives us the ability to add a Sales Part for invoicing purposes.

But I notice 2 issues:

  1. The Price always comes from the Sales Part and completely ignores the existing Pricing Logic => this is very confusing and seems to be nonsensical
  2. There is no ability to set a Quantity

There is however a business need to be able to put Quantities here. For example for certain ‘Subscriptions’ where a customer pays a fee per Machine withint the Service Contract. So I want to be able to select the Sales Part that gives me the price for 1 machine, but I also want to add a Quantity so we can easily multiple with the number of machines (Objects) that we will connect to that service.

And when we dive deeper into ‘Service Line’ details, tab ‘Periodic Prices’ we see that the field ‘Quantity’ is indeed present, and even changeable by a simple ‘edit’ of the line.

And also the price can be edited, either with a manual change, or we can use ‘Retrieve Sales Part Price’ to fetch the price using the Price Logic.

This however feels like an annoying, cumbersome and complete obsolete workaround. Wouldn’t it be better to have the ‘Quantity’ in the ‘Create New Service Line’ wizard, and also put the Sales Part Price Logic functionality there so users can immediately set the correct price and quantity instead of having to save with incorrect prices/quantity and having ot correct it in a second step.

Best Regards

Hi All,

I wanted to take some time and see if I can get some more attention to this topic. Does anyone have any feedback on the possibility of having the ‘Quantity’ field and the ‘Price Logic’ to be present on the ‘New Service Contract Line’ wizard, instead of having to go through a workaround?

Best Regards

Roel
