Hi all,

We are on Cloud 23.2 and on latest mWO service engineer Android app. Recently a lot of our techs complaining about the app not getting the jobs sent to them, parts turning up the next day, etc. I’m just wondering if it could be the Android settings that puts the app to sleep or kill it off while in the background to save resources.

For instance, my test device has selected the below by default. Does that mean the data won’t sync to the device? What are the Android permission settings etc that we should set in order for the app to work optimally (but also not draining the battery)? TIA

@athasanka specifically on the “Pause app activity if unused” setting, unfortunately it’s an Android-level setting, and not something that the MWO app can control.

However, I’d strongly recommend toggling it off. Since the technicians do interact with the app daily, Android should not treat MWO as an “unused” app, but it would help to ensure that background activity and notifications are not silently suppressed by the Android OS.

Thanks, Rukmal. Are there any other Android settings that IFS advise to enable/disable for optimal behaviour? One of the key things our techs report is having to log on to the app multiple times each day. Wondering if it is related to Android app management settings.
