Manufacturing tool can not move with transport task

Dear all ,

 

Can we move manufacturing tool with transport task ? Can it be maintain in a specific storage location as we do the same for inventory parts ? It is pleased if you can send  your views on this matter .

Hi Theja G.

We cannot move manufacturing tools within locations in IFS. And also, manufacturing tools have not connected to a location either, because manufacturing tools are not maintained in inventory like we do for inventory items in IFS.

But, I think there may be an option, since we can connect a serial object (maintenance object) to a manufacturing tool, and we can assign a part number (inventory part) to the serial object. So, the part can be moved through the locations, and so the manufacturing tool. But, I think this generates inventory transactions also.
