Meter Values for Child Objects Inherit New Reading Value of Parent Object

In IFS Cloud 24R2,

I have come across this requirement and want to know if anyone has faced this before :

In a structure, the Parent has a meter and all child objects also have a meter.

e.g :

Parent object - Car

Child Object 1 - Engine

Child Object 2 - Suspension

When a New reading is recorded on the Parent Object meter, the independent child object meters should also inherit the same value.

e.g : If the new reading value on the parent is 103, then the new reading value on the child objects should be 103

Not sure if there is a smart way to do this or whether it requires a configuration.

Hi, yes this is an available functionality with measurement inheritance in IFS Cloud. This is done on a parameter level and you need to have the same parameter in all relevant. You can add the parent object(CAR) update from object field in your child objects(Engine, Suspension) parameter lines.

Please refer https://docs.ifs.com/ifsclouddocs/24r2/EquipmentAdministration/AboutMeasurementInheritance.htm for a detailed explanation on measurement inheritance
