Hello

What is the impact of these two parameters (Use planned dependent demand) & (Use dependent demand in forecast consumption) on MS? I tried to create sales quotation but no data displayed in planned demand anf planned dependent demand column on MS!

Could you help me with this? thanks

Hi @OmarBM

I’ve linked to a thread that contains a nice explanation of what dependant demand is, and when you might need to use the flags to turn off demendant demand forecast consumption.

Basically, if you sell/forecast a finished good, but also sell/forecast a component within that finished good, you need to decide if the demand for the component caused when you sell the parent should consume your forecast for the component part.

For demand from quotes, have you ticked ‘release for planning’ in the sales quotation line?

Also depending on the wanted date, you may need to check this setting on Site > Manufacturing?

If it is set to ‘Drop’ and the wanted date is within the DTF, the Release for planning flag gets turned off.

Demand from Quotations will show in the Planned demand column in MS

Hi, Just FYI Sales Quotations are not dependent demand. They are independent. Once loaded into Master Scheduling they show up as Planned Demand.

Planned Dependent Demand are:

  1. MRP exploded demand
  2. MS  demand (When you have master scheduled parents that explodes demand to master scheduled components)
  3. Distribution Order in Planned status

Cheers,

Mats
