Is it possible to turn off forecast consumption entirely in Master Schedule?
We have parts with forecast consumption of 0 (backwards and forward). If actual demand and forecast of the part lands on the same day, the forecast is still consumed.
We forecast in monthly buckets and manually delete forecast as actual orders are entered. For this reason both the forecast and actual demand need to be counted towards generating supplies.
This is an interesting case where the forecast and actual demand fall on the same day. Unfortunately, there is no standard option available to disable forecast consumption for this scenario.
However, you can prevent forecast consumption by applying the following setup:
Mark the customer order line as Abnormal Demand.
Turn off the Use Abnormal Demand in Forecast Consumption toggle for the Master Schedule Level 1 part.
