Question

Can you create a shipment that is not connected to a customer order? And if so, how is this done (i.e. need to add shipment line, etc.)

Hi @user00099,

Can you elaborate on your business scenario further? It does not specify to which party you want to create the shipment, such as an external customer/supplier, demand from an internal site/ remote warehouse, etc.

Yes, it is possible to create a shipment and add source lines when the source type is not a customer order. Below are the different source types that need to be referred to, when adding source lines to the shipment. You must choose source lines with at least one of the following source types to create shipment lines in the shipment based on your business scenario.

  • Customer Order: When delivering a customer order line to a customer
  • Project Deliverables: When delivering a shipment plan in project deliverables
  • Shipment Order: When delivering a shipment order line to another site or remote warehouse
  • Purchase Receipt Return: When returning a purchase order receipt to a supplier after inspection

Kindly specify which business scenario from the above is relevant to you and I will advise you on the steps to create it accordingly.
