IFS integration with point of sales applications

​@KMAC You can use the RESTFull APIs to expose the data in IFS Cloud. Then you could make the integration development to make the connection between IFS Cloud and third party platforms.

I am more looking to see if anyone has successfully implemented something like this? It would be good to hear if IFS can be efficiently used alongside a sales platform… We carry out a high volume of varied sales transactions with about 45 different forwarders etc, and are yet to hear if anyone has used IFS for a similar purpose?

​@KMAC We are looking for options right now to see what POS offering are out there for IFS and was really hoping to avoid a bunch of customizations. We were hoping to be able to use Lightspeed due to having multiple locations, inventory, and service offerings.  They were using Alumio to integrate with IFS but no longer support it due to the issues they were having. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I have looked at using Lightspeed, Square, MicroBiz, and Counterpoint but none have an integration with IFS.

We are currently in the process of transitioning from Orderwise to IFS and from IRP to Shopify. With Orderwise, all tasks were managed manually, which made the process more labor-intensive and hands-on. As we now work with IFS and Shopify, we are identifying the need for several customizations to ensure these systems meet our specific requirements.

In our previous evaluation of IFS, we noted that it organizes information across multiple views, whereas Orderwise consolidated much of this information in a single view, which simplified the process. While Shopify offers a variety of apps for payments and shipping, integrating these features will likely require custom development as well.

It appears that Shopify was not specifically designed with POS in mind. However, I would recommend exploring the call centre functionality within Microsoft Dynamics for service-related needs, as it offers some interesting features that could be worth considering.
