Suddenly, a last week, users began encountering the following error message when trying to access Power BI reports connected to IFS APPS 9 data sources which are hosted in IFS Managed Cloud.
"Data source error: {"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorCode","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorMessage","detail":{"type":1,"value":"Oracle: ORA-12170: TNS:Connect timeout occurred"}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingHResult","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.DataSourceKind","detail":{"type":1,"value":"Oracle"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.DataSourcePath","detail":{"type":1,"value":"ifs_prd"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.ErrorCode","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Message","detail":{"type":1,"value":"ORA-12170: TNS:Connect timeout occurred"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Reason","detail":{"type":1,"value":"DataSource.Error"}}],"exceptionCulprit":1}}} Table: GL transaction with v_type = F.

We haven’t changed anything on our end, but we are no longer able to connect and run our business-critical Power BI Reports and Dashboards.
The error does not appear when accessing reports linked to other data sources.
We are unable to access any data source in IFS Production environment. We have many data sets which tap into hundreds of tables. The error code we sent was just one instance of it. But the underlying error is the same in all of them.
We've thoroughly checked our connectivity, settings, and database credentials, and everything has remained unchanged for a long time.
We have logged a case to IFS Support and have answered the questions shown below.
1. Do you see this issue in all environments or just in a specific one?
For PowerBi, we had only established a connection to the production database which is failing to connect to. However, for sake of testing, we tried to establish a connection to the DEV environment as well, but we had the same error.
2. Did you recently upgrade a UPD? No
3. Could you please mention the erroneous reports?
This is what we get when we check for reasons of connection gateway showing offline status:
Error code: DataAccessError
Connection error: Data access error

b. This is the error for failure on data refresh:

We have asked them also to check and confirm the following:
Firewall/Network Issues:
Please verify whether there are any firewall or network issues preventing the gateway from reaching the IFS cloud-hosted data source and check if there have been any changes to network or security settings recently, particularly if there have been any updates to the IFS Managed Cloud environment. (e.g., servers, VPN Tunnels, IP address, port, etc.)
API or Endpoint Changes:
If the IFS Managed Cloud environment was updated or modified recently (e.g., API version change or endpoint update), could you confirm if any updates to the connection details for Power BI are necessary?
We are currently awaiting feedback; however, this issue is affecting our business-critical reports that we rely on daily, so this is urgent.
Any advice is much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Sheri
