Hi,

The IFSCloud application is sending an unmanageable number of SFTP reader requests to the external SFTP server. Is it possible to reduce the frequency of SFTP reads in the IFSCloud SFTP Connect Reader? If so, could you please advise on how to adjust the request frequency?

Thank you for your help and support!

Regards,

Mahesh

Hi @maheshmuz

Poll time for connect readers is fixed for 30 seconds. as far as I know it’s not possible to configure.

Can you please add some stats from the sftp reader to check how frequently it reads?

Check if there are any read-only files in the reader folder. It may be due to sftp reader lists all available files and tries to read each and ignore read only files.

BR,

Damith

Hi @dsj

Thank you for the reply, The following observations were noted:

There are 2 x Routing Rules in IFS Connect for MT940 bank statement creations, that are linked to AccessPay readers

There are background jobs for “Load MT940 from AccessPay”; 3 per day, that run at 07:00

Could you please suggest possible steps to minimize the request frequency from the SFTP reader connector if feasible?

Hi @dsj There are two folders in the SFTP server, and when the relevant file is uploaded, the SFTP reader will pick it up. Once the file is read by the IFS reader, the folder in the SFTP server becomes empty, as there are no other files remaining.

Hi @maheshmuz

Even though the folder is empty, sftp reader will do a list operation every 30 seconds to see if there are any files in the folder. It’s currently not possible to change the polling frequency.

One option is to disable the reader while it’s not in use and enable only during the file is written, but it will be a manual work and I would not recommend.

Hi @dsj Thank you for providing valuable information. We have raised a case with IFS support to check if they have a solution for this. I will update you accordingly.
