Hi everyone,

I have test that you can create a Selection Rule to have a default Service Delivery Unit per Service:

Is it possible to have a default Delivery Unit per Contract Line or Object, so when you create a request for that Object/Contract Line, you have the delivery unit automatically retrieved? If not, is this something that is coming in future releases? I am working on 24.1.5.

Thanks in advance.

@irenecalero my understanding is that if you select one of the SUDs as Default Delivery UNit in the Service Organization, then that value will be defaulted whenever you select that Service Organization.

Thank you for your response Marcel.

Yes, if you set a default delivery unit the request will retrieve automatically.

But what I want to know if it’s possible to have a link between contract line or object, so if you create a new request for a particular object, the delivery unit is automatically retrieved overriding the default delivery unit.

Thanks!

Hi,

Selection Rules are work as below,

rules that have region, customer, and model will be prioritized.

As per the schedule DEMYSTIFIED (24R2),

“When the Request is initiated using the New Request Assistant, the most suitable Service Organization and Service Delivery Unit for the selected Service can be automatically retrieved by pre-defined rules. Rules will always taken precedence over the default Service Organization specified for the Service, if it has been set.

The rule will always apply to a specific Service, specified in the Based On field. Each selection rule can have up to three (optional) criteria and will set either just a Service Organization or a Service Organization and Delivery Unit:
• Region: The region associated with the Request Location. Since a location can have more than one region associated with it, the logic will check each region in alphabetical order when multiple records exist, until a match is found.
• Customer: The customer associated with the Request.
• Model: The model associated with the Request.”

The rules are evaluated in the above order of precedence.

Thanks!

Leshika
