We just switched from Apps 10 to Cloud. We are now noticing Shop Order Need Dates and Shop Order Finish Dates being the same day. With backwards scheduling in Apps 10, there was always a 1 working day gap between these dates, based on the MFG calendar. Is this no longer the case in Cloud or is there a setting we are missing somewhere.

Hi @zwashatko,

Please check the below setting of the manufacturing part.

If disabled, manufacturing supply for the part will be planned to be received into stock the workday before the demand and the manufacturing lead time for the part will be rounded up to nearest full day.

We have this setting disabled for all parts, but we are still seeing most Shop Orders with a Finish Date and Need date being the same day. I’ve tried to review part settings/set-up for the ones that have the day gap, but have been unable to determine any differences.

If you have a 24/7 calendar the shop order will typically be scheduled to finish 00:00 on the same date as the need date.

We don’t use a 24/7 calendar, but we do have working hours over 00:00, so that may be doing the same thing. The only time there is a gap in days, seems to be when the need date is a Monday and it pushes the Finish Date to Friday (weekends excluded in our Calendar). Assuming this is default logic within IFS and no other way to adjust it?

Yes this is the standard behavior. The work is scheduled to be done the last working minute the day before the need date, which is consider midnight in this case. In case of backwards scheduling.

You can always add a transport time after the last operation to add some slack between the finish date/time of the last operation and the shop order need date.
