Hi @AJWEE Where do you refer to the minimum stock in IFS?

In my understanding I would use the safety stock as the minimum stock cz it is the same thing.

Hello

I am writing on @AJWEE’s behalf as the response ended up in community@ifs.com mailbox.
 @Vimukthi Mahakumbura

“Thank you, Vimukthi,

It is based on our customer requirement.

They want to maintain minimum stock that they can purchase within short period of order. I include min. & max. stocks based on customer requirement in “Inventory Part Characteristics”.

But to ensure meeting this, I enter safety stock, higher quantity than the minimum.”

@AJWEE Values for the characteristics in Inventory Part Characteristics will not be used for any IFS functions like planning. However, you can keep track. Also, for your requirement to raise purchase requests when stock is hitting a minimum threshold you can also look at Order Point with planning method B or C.

Order Point:
The point used to trigger the creation of an order proposal when the projected quantity on-hand falls below this point.
