Question

PMRP over ordering

Forum|alt.badge.img+9

If we create a Project Purchase that has a minimum order qty and then more demand is created, its not looking at the surplus supply and IFS creates another purchase requisition to purchase more.

Example:

Project demand: 10
PO X 50 ( Minimum order qty)
Surplus: = 40
New project demand x 10

PMRP creates another Purchase requisition x 50

What are we doing wrong? TIA Chris.

Hi @chrisplant,

If you are trying to allocate the surplus inventory to a whole new project, try transferring the existing qty from ‘Inventory Parts In Stock’ as the already existing stocks might be attached to the initial project and will not be available for other project activities (will not be considered in PMRP for other projects).

Another option is if the surplus is connected to a project, transfer it to standard inventory from the ‘Inventory Parts In Stock’ screen before performing PMRP.

Hope this answers your question.

Best regards,

Ushan

Hi Ushan, Thaks for your reply.

The issue is if we want qty 1 on a project, PMRP orders 50 because of minimum order qty, and if the PO hasn’t been delivered yet, and then we get demand for 1 on another project, it raises a p/Req for another 50. rather than realising it’ll have 40 spare when the first po gets receipted
