We have the following CRM process flow:

  1. creating a business opportunity
  2. reviewing technical and commercial feasibility
  3. creating quotation

Our question - where would you recommend to document the technical and commercial feasibility in IFS?

Our idea was to do that in a new project, where we also have the possiblity the book time spent on the feasibility study. Unfortunately it is not possible to link a business opportunity with a project.

Hi,

Are you already using sales processes for business opportunity?

I would include the feasibility study on the opportunity qualification process (sales process) as a stage, with actions requiring a completion of business activities to complete the process stage.

Reps assigned to the activities would record the actual time spent on the activity (start and end dates), plus you can enjoy the benefits of  other business activity related functions such as visibility through calendars/attached mails etc.

This way you have information on who did what, when and who approved that this is feasible.

(I cannot think of a direct way of attaching a project)

Hope this helps,

Asanka
