Hello,

I’m in the Sales Contract and have Audit Enabled with Change Comment Required.  I have not problem creating a new revision but when I save after adding a new item the system barks at me with the message Change Comment is required since Audit Trail is enable with Change Comment Required.

But the problem I have is that the field labelled Change Order Comment is disabled:

I don’t see another field in which I could put a Change Comment.

Hi Patrick,

What setting do you have at the Sales Contract for the field “Contract Change Order Change capturing Level”?

A possible cause can be that the value is on “Contract Item”, then the field Change Comment is disabled. If the value is “Cost or Revenue Element” then the field is enabled.

I don't know exactly why this is working like this. I have raised the question to IFS during a virtual classroom. The response was that this is connected to some undeveloped work.  Unfortunately, I cannot give you the answer who and why this is working like this.

Greeting,

Dennis

Thank you @EqeDenniD,  That worked but for reasons unknown.  I’ll put in a case to have it looked at.  The help for that field says:

Contract change order change capturing level indicates different options to capture the contract scope change in a change order.

  • Contract Item - Plan and value the scope change using contract lines and items
  • Cost or Revenue Element - Plan and value the scope change using cost/revenue elements

This parameter cannot be modified once a contract change order is created for the contract.

It seems to imply that this is something related to the Contract Change Order functionality, which I’m not using.

Must be a bug.
Patrick

Update:  This has been defined as a bug.  No word, yet, on what release it’ll arrive in.
