Hi everyone!

I have a question about the project Gantt chart.
Is it possible to hide or exclude certain activities from the project’s critical path calculation?

Right now, I’m using an activity to capture revenue from my sales contract, and its duration is based on the project dates. In the Gantt chart, this activity appears as “critical.” In a way, that makes sense — but it’s not the behavior I’m expecting.

Any idea to manage that ?

Thanks and regards,
Maud

Hi @mmoulie,

There is no manual step to remove an activity from the critical path. There are 2 things that came up to my mind to exclude the activity from that.

You can mark it as a milestone activity so that it would take 0 working days.

OR
You can remove the predecessors and successors of that activity so it would become independent not affecting the critical path.

Hi @Yathartha Karunananda ,

It appears that the second solution is not working on 25R2.
Even when there are no predecessors or successors, the system still identifies the longest activity as part of the critical path.

In my case, I want to ensure that no management-related activities (such as project management tasks) are included in the critical path.

Any idea  ? a bug releated to this version ?
