Hi Team,

I have created a customer order with a line for inventory part. Then I created a Project from customer order and created a activity in the project and released it too.

Then connected the activity to customer order line and ran PMRP. This creates a Project supply request and when I receive the PO, I do have a part to reserve to customer order line. Here there is no option to issue the part to Project. What is the reason for this ? Is this beacuse it was directly created without Project demand ?

Now, If I create a Project demand for same part, create PR and then PO from that demand and receive the stock to business, It get reserve to Project demand line and I could issue it. Yet this part will not be available to resevrve to customer order line. what is the reason for this ? is there a reason to make this avilable for Customer order line reservation ?

Hi @Ashni Nayanthara,

Please go through below discussion. I hope this would answer your query.

When should a user apply the supply codes "Project" and "Project Delivery"?

@Ashni Nayanthara In the first scenario, the PO is created for the demand from the CO. So when the PO is received it gets directly pegged to the CO line. There is no need to issue it to the activity and then reserve it again to the CO. The system know that the demand comes from the CO line and it pegs as the PO is received. As you observed, on the other hand, if you create a Mics Part Demand and then created the PR and PO then part is reserved to the activity.

Generally, in IFS Project Management module, parts that needs to be consumed with in the activity needs to be raised as Misc Demands. However this behavior is complemented by the Supply Codes.

Hope this explains your observation.

Hi @Buddhika Kurera ,

Thanks for the input and this make sense and I hope you could assist further.

1.Is there any reference on F1/IFS Product document on Misc demands are consumed within Project itself? to further learn on this…..
2.Is there a option to change supply type when misc demands are created to use supply created from misc demand to reserve to customer order ?

Further, I believe is issuing the stock to project means, they are consumed/used within Project. is my understanding correct on it ?

Understand that your requirement is to ship a Misc demand item to a customer, right. Can you please explain the business requirement that you are dealing with? May there can be a different approach.

Yes this is the idea.

@Buddhika Kurera

“ship a Misc demand item to a customer” → how do I perform this flow in IFS Cloud? Project misc material demand is not connected to project deliverable. Do I need to create a deliverable and then add a shipment item that is used for delivery of the misc material?

Sorry for asking this, but the documentation doesn’t describe the standard IFS flow.
