Community,

below shop order work center R2 got 2  machines. each machine can produce 8 PCS per day (8hrs/day). I have below shop order is 16 PCS. We expect APB could assign 2 resources so that this SO can be completed in one day. But APB failed to do so, this SO is to be completed in 2 days, and only one resource is assigned. Where we missed in settings?

Work Center R2 is Finite Capacity, capacity is 16hrs/day.

Hi @ronhu,

APB (even Infinite scheduling) would not schedule two machines simultaneously (2 WC resources) for a single Shop Order operation.

Please split Shop Order Operation and select desired "Preferred Resource" against each Operation, Plan both Operations for Parallel execution (Original and Splitted), and then schedule through APB.

@Abdul Thank you.

Just tried, it’s working.

@ronhu Single operation with two machines or two split operations with two machines??

@Abdul i split the shop order and assign preference resource on each shop order operation, in my case, each shop order quantity 8, and assign work center resource R2 and R2-2 to 2 shop order operation resource, then APB is working exact as I expected.

my concern is, if we had a large volume of orders, do we have to do manual calculation before we start APB?

@Abdul wondering my case whether could do via operation block?

@Abdul operation block does work. APB is doing its job.
