Winning a Business Opportunity Line

Is there a way to change the status of a Business Opportunity Line to “Won” without having to create a customer order from the Line?   We have lines that are part of a bigger project that are technically “Won” but we can only cancel the line or create a customer order and then cancel the customer order.

Seems that you should be able to Wim the Line like you can do at the Business Opportunity header.

We are using Enterprise Explorer, version 10, update 13

Does anyone has an answer to this question?

The answer is that there is not a way to manually change the line to won. The line status is designed to updated through the connected object of a customer order, sales quotation, service quotation or estimate. This functionality has not changed as cloud 23R1 behaves the same way.

One option would be to create a sales quotation and indicate that the sales quotation has been won. This will be relayed to the opportunity and the line will be changed to won. Additionally, this will not require you to create a customer order.

This still sounds a bit more convoluted then what you are really looking for. I would suggest just creating a custom field with it’s own enumeration for the Opportunity Lines to indicate that the line has been won or lost. This would allow you to indicate the status so it can be configured in report without have to create either a customer order or sales quotation. Additionally, you will still be able to close the opportunity header while indicating that the opportunity has been won even though some lines are still in confirmed status.
