IFS Cloud 22R2 customer is looking for

some documentation on how to set up someone who would be a technician for the Technician Portal.  They looked on the page documentation and tried to drill down from there but did not see a step by step what is required to have a technician set up

 

Any guidance will be appreciated.

I dont think there is any setup to be done here. A full user automatically can access the Technician portals. If you are however a Limitied Task User for the Portal then you will only have access to the Technnician Portal, but again nothing to be done there its just there. 

I suspect that you are having some kind of problems with permission sets being defined wrong or that there is missing basic data if it doesnt work for you.

Amongst other things, in order to be able to execute work through the Portals one must be:

Defined as a User
User must be associate with a Person and must be configured as a Resource. 
Furthermore the Resource needs be connected to a maintenance organization.

If all these criterias are fullfilled for a user it should be possible to see and execute work in the portal.

Hi Bjorn, Thank you for the prompt reply. We have just provided the predefined permission LTU to the customer to import. we will try the above and see whether that helps. Thanks
