Hi

does anyone know if it is possible to upload a Bill of materials created in solidworks 2021 directly into IFS when creating a part structure?

currently we duplicate our effort and copy the Solidworks Bill of materials in IFS part by part which takes considerable time.

we ae using Apps 10

regards

Jamie

Hi @jamiewhite ,

You may be able to find commercial solution somewhere. If not, according to this, it should be ‘fairly’ easy to program a solution. We do something similar.

In our implementation we are using CADTalk to do exactly this. We can even upload a multi-level structure.

Agni Link and CADLink are also IFS Partners who provide connectors that do this.

Hi,

If you have solidworks pdm, it is very basic. you can write simple servis for bom list. we have a solution. We develop a add-in for solidworks. add-in to service, service to ifs db. If you want, you can send a trigger to the service from the solidworks approval flow. you can also transfer stocks to solidworks with the same service. We also developed a add-in to add raw material selections to solidworks cards.

If you are going to perform a one-time transfer, you can access all the data you want from the pdm database.

Solidworks api is very helpfull.
