Morning,

I know we can stop different parts being stored in the same location by ticking ‘Mix of Part Numbers Blocked’ on the Warehouse Navigator, but is there a way in Standard Apps 9, to prevent a part being stored in more than one location? i.e Limiting every part in a warehouse / bay to only 1 Pick Location.

Thanks, Chris.

Hey Chris,

There is no such functionality in IFS other than maybe misusing the storage capabilities. Easiest way that comes to mind to achieve what you want is to create a custom event on the inventory part in stock table. Whenever an entry is generated to a pick list location that is not the default pick location of the part (setup in inventory part) raise an error. If the logic doesn’t apply to all your parts add another condition based on some part grouping/Characteristic or (if you don’t have any exiting crtiteria) a new custom field.

We just use a quick report that shows inventory not in the default location and a manager is assigned to police that inventory and get it moved to the correct location.
