Hi.

We’re successfully created a custom note field on the Standard Operation page, with it being brought to other pages via expression/reference custom attributes as well. The field is called Cc Operation Definition

We’ve noticed the field only accounts for the data put into it when we use the “Reference” option with “Add Standard Operation” on the pages though, using “Copy” leaves the note field blank.

In Shop Order, the assistant doesn’t give you the option to select between Copy or Reference, and the custom field appears blank:

On the Routing page however, where the Add Standard Operation allows you to choose between Copy or Reference, choosing Reference populates the custom field with the data thats been added to it:

How should we go about making the field populate via the copy option and in other windows as well where the option between the two isn’t offered?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @cmojkuu,

Have you tried to configure your custom field with Select option?

I created a custom field for Standard Operation screen.

Fetched custom field for Routing Operation tab using a Select statement.

Value for custom field fetching irrespective whether operation was copied or reference.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for this Abdul.
This worked and we’re getting results with both Copy and Reference options.

Sadly the users are looking to create a basic model in Standard Operation which would be used for routing, and not create an operation for every work center.

With the above set up, the data in the note field won’t get moved if the work center is changed as the argument looks for both site and work center. I tried switching the argument to utilize CONTRACT and STD_OPERATION_NAME as its a shared field between a few of the tables at least, but with that we ran into the same issue as earlier where the data only shows in the field if using “Reference” as an option.

Using only Contract (Site) as the argument will naturally result in the note field being printed over to every single Standard Operation assigned to that site.

Only RoutOperationTemplate and RoutingOperation tables seem to share the STD_OPERATION_NAME field with StandardOperation, so it wouldn’t be a solution for the other two entities even if it worked as desired.

The goal would be to have the text field function in the following entities, essentially having this work akin to the already existing default Note field in the Standard Operation view.
RoutOperationTemplate
RoutingOperation
ShopOrderOperation
OperationStatistic

I tried checking the entities for each for the existing NOTE_TEXT field, but sadly it doesn’t give any further insight on how I would go about making the custom note field work here.

Any further help on how to achieve the desired result here would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you again!
