Hello!

We are looking to create a new 24/7 Work Time Calendar and use it as the Manufacturing Calendar at the Site level. We are curious what other areas of IFS the Site level manufacturing calendar has an impact on. We just want to understand any and all implications of changing that calendar before we change it in our PROD environment.

Thanks.

Hi @Mhughes,

Changing the Site level manufacturing calendar can have several implications across various modules and processes. Here are some key areas that might be impacted:

  1. Master Scheduling and MRP: The manufacturing calendar is used in master scheduling and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to plan supply for manufactured parts. Any changes to the calendar can affect the scheduling of production orders and the timing of material requirements.

  2. Lead Time Calculations: The calendar impacts lead time calculations for manufactured items. This includes setup, transport, operation times, and other factors that contribute to the total lead time

  3. Capacity Planning: The calendar is used to determine available capacity at work centers. Changes can affect capacity planning and the scheduling of work orders.

  4. Shop Floor Scheduling: The calendar influences the scheduling of operations on the shop floor. Adjustments to the calendar can impact the start and end times of operations.

  5. Resource Allocation: The calendar affects how resources (e.g., labor, machines) are allocated and utilized. Changes can lead to shifts in resource availability and utilization rates.
