I would add the following: In some cases, the requirement goes even further. Then everything is completely assembled and tested before shipping and then disassembled again into two or three large components so that it can be loaded onto the means of transport. And these disassembled components no longer correspond to the previous pre-assemblies.
So the question is, what is the best way to map such a process in IFS?
Hi Mike, in that case I would probably look at Project Deliverables as this sounds like a manufacturer of larger equipment. For a product manufacturer, Project Deliverables is a bit to much, I guess.
@Drausenhaus what you describe sounds like a Shop Order with a ‘dummy’ outside operation. Probably a dummy supplier would need to be used for the PO and the finished goods received in some ‘customer’ location in the warehouse so that it could be reserved on the Customer Order.
Hi Peter,
Please also see this post, where a similar question has been asked.

Thanks a lot Roel for pointing me to the “Disassembly Shipment” post. It is the same question . @Novacura_jst What is the status of this "Shipment Relevant Part Solution"? Is this something that Novacura sells for use by others (partnes/customers)?

Hey Peter,
sorry, i completly missed your post We developed the solution for a customer on Apps10, but (by now) that solution has a lot of customer specific requirements implemented. The base idea is pretty generic though and we should be able to build a generic solution for IFS Cloud with limited effort, depending on scope and requirements. If you are interested and maybe have a used case i would be very down for a discussion.
Biggest investment here would be the need for a Flow Server in order to make the scanner solution work. Conceptionally there is still a lot of discussion to do, like which used cases we should consider and which we should not. In our scenario it’s CTO orders, so we always have a direct order connection. In case we do not have order based Manufacturing we need to have a discussion how to resolve that (e.g. have Flow create a shop order on the spot when picking?).
It’s a very interesting topic and pretty defined for CTO, but as of now not for other used cases. Since i have seen this question asked a few times on this forum and have seen it come up frequently in my projects i would be very interested to come up with a generic solution for this long term :-)
Regards,
Johannes
Thanks Johannes for giving some more background. In the specific case I ran into, its is about CtO with DOP, so we have the connection. But for now we use IFS Cloud ScanIT and WaDaCo and don’t have Flow Server of course . We are at the start of Establish phase in this project, so we probably first try to figure out a solution with IFS Cloud core capabilities.
@Björn Hultgren anything on the roadmap for this business scenario? It is quite common at product manufacturers with configurable products.
@Drausenhaus I’m not in charge of the roadmap. Better check with @Örjan .
