Does it work if a routing of the type ‘Repair’ is created and the shop order for the rework is created with it?

​@MikeCH I receive an error that the rework flag cannot be enabled for  a repair order, which would mean I could not add the top level part to the materials tab.

Rework has to be performed through Repair type Shop Order only, and following steps need to be followed to carried out to create a Repair type Shop Order.

1. Create Repair type Product Structure for subjected Part No. and make it Buildable (there is no need to add any component in Component tab).

2. Create Repair type Routing with operation(s) required for rework for subjected Part No. and make it Buildable (Operation can be add or delate later on at Shop Order level as per rework requirements).

3. Create a Repair type Shop Order manually for subjected Part No.(there is no need yo select repair flag and all), and execute Shop Order like a normal Shop Order.

Please check with above steps whether still encounter same error.

​@Abdul I’ve created the repair PS and Routing. However, it will not create the repair SO without an active Control Plan. This is essentially the same issue as we’re now creating another Control Plan, and I’m assuming it will require QA checks that will not be there, as operation steps can vary based on the repair operations that need completed. 

​@cjohnson, under such conditions where QC check would be applicable on the basis of Shop Order type then please remove Mandatory Control Plan check for Parts. 

Please disable Mandatory Control Plan and Mandatory Analysis check for subjected Part through Quality options for Manufacturing Parts screen. 

​@Abdul That’s what I’m having to do now. That is the issue. It requires manual intervention to disable the control and then add it back when the parts have gone through the rework process. This seems like a large solution gap in the Quality Control Plan Mandatory controls. 

​@cjohnson, we have to handle this scenario in a different way. 

Disable Quality Options for Control Plan Manufacturing and enable Analysis Required for Receipt option for Manufacturing Control Plan only. Please refer to the screenshot below.

This setup would allow us to proceed with Repair type Shop Order without Control Plan, however, the system would not allow to receive Manufacturing type Shop Order without confirmed Shop Order Analysis.

Hi ​@Abdul I’m using IEE, and I do not see that control referenced in your screenshot. I’m wondering if that is new functionality to IFS Cloud?

​@Björn Hultgren No, we did not create one. That was the issue the QA and Operations groups were trying to avoid: having to create additional Routings/PS/Control Plans. It sounds like if you the Mandatory CP and Analysis enabled in Basic Data, there is no way around it for reworking a part though.

​@cjohnson, most probably Receipt Not Allowed option for IEE version. 

​@Abdul Ok, so I would still have to manually modify the Basic Data, and add repair routings/PS/CP. The QA controls for mandatory CP and Analysis do not make sense, as you’re then requiring manual effort enable/disabled the controls each time you need to rework a part in IFS. If you have thousands of parts and need to perform rework each week, you’re manually enabling and disabling these controls over and over again. This seems like a significant solution gap.
