Hello.

In the multi level structure tab, we sometimes have a negative value on the qty per assembly field.

What’s the meaning of this and is that possible to update the value to set a positive value?

A by-product is a part produced in addition to the main product on the shop order like metal shavings.

A negative Qty per Assembly indicates it is a By-Product.

If you open the product structure of the parent part you should see this part on the By-Products tab (it is shown with a positive Qty per Assembly here). Then you can delete it from the By-products tab and instead add it to the Components tab if required

@romsar that indicates the component part has been defined as a by-product of the parent part. Look at the By-Products tab for APL0905546 and APL0905046 will be listed.

Hello @Björn Hultgren @matt.watters

Screenshots from the by-products tab on the 2 products that @matt.watters mentionned ;

So if I understand well : the part no APL0905546 listed in level 1 has in level 2, the sub part no APL0905046. On the product structure of part no APL0905046, by having a look in the by-products tab, I can find the sub part no APL0905046, and so, because of that, IFS puts a negative value for the qty per assembly, right? and what’s the meanting of the by-products tab?
