We have multiple situations where shop order pick lists are being generated and the operation is missing leading to components not being picked. All structures have operations connected to them, but these are not being pulled through onto shop orders. I’m wandering whether this is because the product structure that they are called up in is planning method P (phantom)?

For information:

Pick Lists are created per Work Centre

All shop order material parameters are %

Max orders per pick list is 1

Include Unconnected material is toggled on

Planning Methods Used for manufactured parts - and P

Planning Methods Used for purchased parts - B

Your Phantom part should have a routing with operation(s).

The materials in the Phantom part's product structure must be connected to the operation numbers in this routing.

The operation numbers in the Phantom part's routing must exist in the parent part's routing for where you want the phantom's component materials to connect on a shop order.

An example of this setup:

My phantom part structure and routing. Routing has operations 10 & 20 and the materials are connected to these ops.

My parent part structure and routing.

With this setup, the components (MW-P-001, MW-P-002) of my phantom part will connect to operations 10 and 20 on the shop order for the parent part.

If operations 10/20 were not on the parent part routing, the component materials would pass through to the shop order but not connect to an operation on the shop order.

If the phantom routing ops were not 10/20 but instead 40/50, the component materials would pass through to the shop order but not connect to an operation on the shop order.
