We are currently in the process of reviewing the Material Review Board module on IFS9.
Was just wondering what the benefits of the MRB module are? And how anyone else has successfully enforced the module within their company.
Are there any training document that we could use within a test environment?

View originalIf you are interested in tracking quality issues and inspections and relating them directly to the affected inventory, then MRB cases can be very effective and useful. We’ve implemented its use in several sites to track not only the problem parts found at assembly or when drawn from inventory, but also to record the inspection of parts at the end of machining to record the validity of the part.
The activity diagram is a useful starting point for understanding, but not implementation.
We did have to add in a bit of automation to allow creating a No Part PO for some use cases when we need to pay a supplier for a repair they won’t cover as well as creating financial projects to convert inventory to supplier debit/credit to allow tracking the material as it moves to the supplier and back. Sometimes they provide credit, sometimes they provide like product.

I just have a questions with regards to the automation process you needed to implement.
Speaking with members of the team that will be using this module - they have questions over whether an MRB case can perform an action on completion. For example - on the inventory part in stock line they would usually right click and scrap the amount required with a reason. Using an MRB case - we can deposition parts and provide a scrap disposition code but when the MRB is complete - the quantity on hand does not change if raised from the inventory part in stock (as the source). I was wondering if an automation process could be implemented at this stage to carry out the scrap transaction?

Yes it can be created.
Ours does the Issue Inventory Part action because we want to direct the movement of the part to a particular project, not just scrap. It is automated based on a different function we had written.
We use the out of the box Disposition Part(s) for certain scenarios, but have a separate Instron Disposition Parts when we want to direct the inventory to be disposed of in a certain way.
