Hi.

I would like to know if it’s possible to manage Safety Stock for inventory parts managed via DOP (IFS 10).

I’ve tried it configuring the safety stock in Planning Data tab (Inventory Part window) but the MRP doesn’t have in account it to generate the requirements.

If it is not possible via Safety Stock, Do I have another alternative?

As you have noticed, MRP will not create any supplies for a DOP handled part, hence, not try to refill any safety stock.

DOP is however designed to supply parts that should be made or purchased to order, why do you want to keep a safety stock for it?

Maybe you can define a Kanban Circuit for automatic refill so if the specified inventory location goes below a reorder point defined here it generate a refill (can be a purchase req/order or shop order/req).

My customer wants to anticipate, as the lead times are not well defined. So..., meanwhile…

Thank you very much.
