Hi,

We are doing an IFS Applications 10 implementation to a Manufacturing client. One of the processes of the client is to create a recipe structure for Manufacturing.

Our scenario is, there is an unfinished recipe which is still in Tentative state. When we try to add components to our structure, we get the error “Phase In date of this component conflicts with parent revision date range”. In our client’s business, a Chemist (person who enters the recipe) might start working on a recipe (still in Tentative state) last week and he/she should be able to add components until he/she is done with the recipe. The Phase In Date should not be problem until the Recipe Structure is completed.

At the moment, we have to change the Phase In date for the parent or child every time we add a component to the Recipe Structure which is not practical.

Can anyone advise how to components to an unfinished recipe structure when it is still in Tentative state?

Please refer to attached screenshot for more information.

Thanks!

Sachith

I’m afraid you cannot do it in the core application.

Currently the system does not maintain timestamped records of structure alternate state changes (tentative→ buildable etc.). When referred at a later point in time, records should not exist with parent structures having unavailable (not phased in) components at that point of time.

Ensuring above is done by restricting such records being entered using the error message.

Hi Chamila,

That is unfortunate because our customer has to create parts for each recipe because they are into specialized manufacturing. At the moment, IFS does not seems to cater any non repetitive manufacturing processes.

Thanks a lot for the answer! Much Appreciated!

Best Regards,

Sachith
