Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a way to apply authorisations for standard Inventory scrap process?

We’re using Apps 10 Aurena.

Thanks

Hi @PJIFS,

If you are using the “Scrap Inventory Part” window then there is no feature to allow authorisations. Unless, you do a customisation there.

I have seen some customers using workarounds to meet this requirement but such are adding number of additional steps to user workflow.

Hi Tharindu,

Thank you for the reply. I thought that might be the answer. The only other way I can think of is using the counting process.

Hi @PJIFS,

You are welcome.

Yes, counting process is fine. However, from the system point of view it will reflect rather as a difference in stock counting process than an actual scrap.

MRB too is an option but it does not reduce the scrapped quantities from the inventory. So may be you could allow the operators to raise the MRB and process, this will indicate that there are some quantities that should get scrapped. Then from IFS permission sets allow only the authorising users to have access to Scrap Inventory Part window. So, based on the MRB authorisers can actually scrap the quantities.

Hi also please Check the Security Checkpoint feature suits for this, this feature is provided by the framework and can be enabled with little changes to the system.

then you will be prompted to enter user credentials as below to proceed with the scrap and we can define set of users who can do that and those authorizations will also be logged.

Hi Dameenda,

Thank for this. I’ve not used this before is there any more information for this functionality?

Hi,
here is a link to the Security Checkpoints technical documentation:
https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/24r2/030_administration/010_security/030_security_checkpoints/#security_checkpoint_event

Depending on where you want to implement it you can already find some activities descriptions in the cloud documentation as well. Example:
https://docs.ifs.com/ifsclouddocs/24r2/default.htm?openpage=https://docs.ifs.com/ifsclouddocs/24r2/Manufacturing/ActivityConfigureSecurityCheckpointsForShopOrder.htm

Thank you Lucas;

I found this and this is where i copied the screen shot for my previous reply, the question is for APPS10 and APPS10 technical documentation link was not working then and now
