How can we notify warehouse staff to deliver parts to production floor? We think sending a material requisition would work but I don’t know. We want to send the notification to the warehouse for specific part number to be delivered to the production floor for a specific Shop Order being assembled. Is this a task, kanban or material req?

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

If you want material to be delivered from the warehouse to a specific shop order the most tradition approach is to reserve the material on the shop order and then create a shop order pick list.

Optionally you can also create a warehouse task for the shop order pick list to order the movement.

If you rather keep a small stock of the material on the shop floor it is better to use a kanban circuit that can be set to create a transport task to refill it from the warehouse when the stock level goes below a set reordering point, or a kanban card is scanned.

@Björn Hultgren , thank you for your quick response. Can you create multiple shop order pick lists and tasks based on other criteria like operation or work center?

@arebbeadle Sure, it is possible to both create say one pick list for each work center for one shop order, or to select one pick list per work center for several shop orders (consolidate picking for several shop orders).

Hi,

I think the above snapshots would help you to have an idea on which parameters shop order picklists can be created for. You may create a picklist from the Shop Order itself or you may run ‘Create Pick List(s) for Shop Order(s)’ job online/as scheduled.

Hope this helps.

@Pabasara Kalahe , do the lines on the shop order have to be in Reserved status first before creating?

Yes! You must reserve the material lines first then create the pick list. The pick list shows the material reservations

If you do not want to use Kanban, maybe Putaway Refill could be used? With or without Remote Warehouse.
