Hi

I was wondering if there was a standard process for dealing with First Article Inspection. I was hoping for something that would inform users when a product is finalized and the shipment is coming in.

Thanks.

There is not a standard process for First Article Inspection in IFS and nothing that would notify users for the first time an inspection is complete and the item is valid for use.  A process would need to be developed that fits your local process.

Hi,

Try this in rough description.

Control Plan Warehouse

+

custom field on inventory part in stock that informs that this lot / serial no is received for the first time (and no qman analysis exists)

+

manually or custom event that triggers creating Warehouse Control Plan Analysis

So, after 1 pcs is received into stock, some lobby shows Quality Department USer to create Anaysis.

Regards, Lukasz

Sara,

Here is a document covering one way of achieving FAI, but it does require a couple of custom fields and events.

Hope that is helps.

Regards,
Antony

@anbouk Would we have something similar for the purchase parts that needs a FAI process for each supplier ? In general, I feel this is a known improvement area into the solution, especially in the A&D manufacturing but not only. I do remember a customization done on Apps 9 at one tier-one subsidiary of aircraft manufacturers in France.

You can set triggers in the Control Plan for both manufactured and purchased parts:

Trigger types used for manufactured parts are:

  • Start Shop Order
  • Nonconforming
  • Time Interval

Trigger types used for purchased parts are:

  • At Arrival
  • Nonconforming
  • Time Scheduled
  • Interval Scheduled
