Question

Capture hours worked on tooling creation

Hi IFS champions!

We want to capture hours spent making tooling for our production process. We have explored using Work Orders, Shop Orders but both have their pitfalls as well as benefits.

Ideally, need to capture time spent (real-time or retrospectively) against each Tooling item manufactured. Needs to be a simple process as these colleagues are not IT literate!

We are not currently doing anything with tooling, apart from creating them in IFS and attaching them to the Shop Order for manufacturing.

Any thoughts?

n.b. we are on IFS2003 :(

What issues you have using Shop Orders for making tools?

By the way time for an upgrade :)

“By the way time for an upgrade :)”  - Haha tell me about it! If only we could.

Shop Orders using Time Clock bookings is what we looked at. Can you retro-book to capture times?

Not sure how it functions in 2003. Do you want to capture the real-time spent on making tools? Otherwise hope you can auto-report the time specified on routing at the Shop Order receipt.
