Is there a way to supress some of these options in “Shop Floor Workbench” with page designer or another method?  We spent quite a bit of time in the “Dialog” portion of page designer but couldn’t find a way.

We also do not want to use “Shop Floor Reporting User Settings per Site” as it’s to granular and is missing options we’re trying to supress.

Using 24R1 currently.

Yes, it is possible to suppress options in the Shop Floor Workbench using Page Designer, but it requires a specific approach involving Appearance Context Mapping and custom contexts.

Capabilities of Page Designer

According to the IFS Technical Documentation, Page Designer allows you to:

  • Extend page models

  • Add or remove commands

  • Hide or show attributes

  • Create master-detail relationships

However, direct suppression of specific options in Shop Floor Workbench dialogs may not be straightforward unless Appearance Context Mapping is used.

Using Appearance Context Mapping

This method enables you to:

  • Create a tailored view of the Shop Floor Workbench

  • Hide specific fields or options for certain user groups

  • Avoid reliance on the granular “Shop Floor Reporting User Settings per Site”

If you delete unwanted fields from the context in Page Designer but those fields are referenced in mappings, buttons, or commands that the user still needs those commands may no longer function properly. This is a rare but possible scenario.

Limitations

  • You cannot suppress all types of options using Page Designer alone, especially those deeply embedded in dialog logic.

  • Some options may require custom configuration or extensions beyond what Page Designer offers.

Yes you can configure the Approve Operation dialog from the page designer from the address assistant/ReceiveShopOrder/ReceiveShopOrderAssistant

Thank you for the help!  This appears to be helpful, but we’re also looking to disable the below value when closing the last operation in shop floor workbench, but I can’t find this one, any idea where we can hide this button so that it cannot be turned off by operators?

You can control whether to default the toggle to receive the shop order with the last operation from the work center

Hi, Bjorn.  Thanks for this, but we’re looking to hide the toggle entirely as we’ve had people just flipping toggles out on the floor not realizing what they’re doing.  We have 50+ people out on the floor who may inadvertedly uncheck a box and with turn over, there are certain things they should just not have access to.

Is there any way to hide the “Receive Main Product” toggle entirely? Or is the only option to default it to toggled on, but operators still have the ability to turn it off.

Also, thank you for all your feedback on this and other questions I’ve posted recently.  It’s been very helpful!

I think you can just hide the toggle using the page designer. You can still use the work center setting to control its value, even when not displayed in the client.

The toggle called “Receive Main Product” is not available in the actual assistant page. The layout is different.

It appears to be a drop down of what you are receiving rather than a toggle like it appears in Shop Floor Workbench.

The assistant consist of 9 different steps which are dynamically displayed. You can configure the Report Operation step even if you don’t see it in the client.

Okay thank you!!  This is what we were having a hard time finding.  Case closed!
