Hello,

I am trying to enable automatic reservation and backflush upon shop order receipt (operation approval) in Shop Floor Workbench (IFS APPS 10 UPD 23).

The product structure is set up to automatically reserve and backflush from a specific location and connected operation. Everything was working fine until I enabled lot tracking, and now it’s returning the error message: “There are not enough reservations for the tracked part. It must be reserved before it is issued, as the parent part is multilevel tracked.”

I know I can get around this by right-clicking the material line and selecting “Reserve”, but I don’t want the operators to have to do that. This process occurs in the middle of a production line, so they’d have to Reserve upon each receipt, as not all of the material would be available at the start of the Shop Order. I’d like the system to automatically calculate, reserve, and backflush the exact quantity of material required upon each partial receipt/op approval. Is this possible?

Thank you.

When the parent part is multilevel tracked it means that the shop order receipt will create an as-built structure. In this each parent lot or serial must be assigned the correct component lot and serials. Because of this, the system enforces you to first reserve the lot or serial tracked component so it can correctly be assigned to the correct parent before the receipt.

If you don’t need this level of traceability you can turn of the multilevel tracking for the parent while still having it serial or lot tracked.
