Hello everyone,

We’re running into occurrences where we make a minor change to a business report previously published in the database removes that report projection from all permission sets other than the permission set “BR_FULL_REPORT_ACCESS”. This is requiring permissions to be modified each version of the report to restore permissions back to where they were prior to unpublishing the active report.

Is anyone else running into this issue? Would love to hear how others are managing permissions related to IFS Business Reporter around changes to existing reports.

We’re working off the technical documentation here

Hi

There will be only one published and active version for a Business Reporter report which can be ordered and scheduled from IFS Cloud. When you make changes for an existing report design and publish with a new revision number, the previous version will get unpublished.

I think the Report Designer should finalize the report design before publishing the report.
Report Designer can execute the report from IFS Business Reporter Client and make sure the report design caters the requirements of the end user before publishing the report. This way you don’t have to grant permission to the report more frequently.

I hope this help you.

Thank You
Best Regards
Shenali

Thanks @shwiclk -- it looks like this setup has a whole that we’re observing.

We have report designers that will make modifications to reports their department uses. They do not have access to BR_FULL_REPORT_ACCESS.

When they go to modify the report, they unpublish the report, but since they do not have BR_FULL_REPORT_ACCESS it’s no longer available for them to modify. This orphans their report in an unpublished status while they have the changes for the next version to apply.
