I would like to know which application (form) is actual started by a user.

Security is all arranged by permission set, but it doesn't necessarily means that the program's in the permission sets are actually used

Is there a way to activate/facilitate logging somewhere in IFS or via PLSQL?

This will help me analysing which application is used by which user and in which frequency.

From the IFS applications you can activate History Logging. You could activate history logging for the

desired windows and the logging can be configured to accommodate your need.

Please refer the documents attached which explains the History log and the history log Configuration.

Hope this helps!

The actual session logging will however probably create a huge amount of data in your DB. But the user role assigned can be logged whenever activated. But if you need to log sessions, prepare your system with assigned tablespace.
