BR reports that have worked previously are erroring stating an error in design.  Having been advised that no changes have been made to the reports.  It was decided to restarted the BR Execution Server as NO BR reports have been processed since the 3rd June.

On clicking Stop the service does not stop and the following error appeared in the Log:

An error occurred while trying to stop BR Execution Server.  Reported error is.  The service cannot accept control messages at this time.

How can I stop and restart the service?

The log files appear to go back to the 06/06/2021 and there are a few reports flagged as errored.

Any prompts much appreciated.

@johnw66 , do you mean to say that Excel is not available in the same machine where BRES is installed?

Also, try to stop the BR service and the console processes from the Task Manager as well. Was that possible?

Regards,

Pradeep

Hi John,

You will need to stop the Excel threads using the Task Manager.
Then you will be able to start the BRES,

Best Regards,

Pradeep

@Pradeep de Alwis Thank you for your reply.  There are no Excel threads on our BR Server (we have this installed on a separate report server).   Should I be looking elsewhere?

Regards

John

@Pradeep de Alwis Killing the BR service processes in Task Manager resolved the issue.

Thank you for your help.
