Hi All,

Wondering if there is a way we can hide the assigned tasks tab of a work package from specific user groups.

Reason: we are seeing an organisational impact with maintenance exection teams attempting to justify deferring maintenance as they can see the remaining compliance limits.

This control is not in their jurisdiction to interrogate.
Wondering if other Airlines have seen/heard similar.

Thanks,

Greetings, Southwest Airlines has had similar problems with the Assigned Tasks tab.  We  also had issues with users making changes within the “Assigned Tasks Tab” instead of the “Workscope Tab”.  We had to develop training & communications to reduce the issues we were seeing.  It has drastically reduced since then, but we still have occasional issues.  Also, agree, having Production seeing remaining limits does drive increased deferrals.

We raised aha item MXC-I-835 in May 2021, to add permission controls to the Assigned Tasks Tab.  There has been no update on this request.

Sincerely,

Shon Creese - Southwest Airlines

Same Solution applied on AF/ KL group training and communication but issues form time to time.

Hi all,

Thanks everyone for their contributions.

There is some configuration in this area, but it does not address the concern you are putting forward.

I can add that in 8.3-SP5, Maintenix received a new role permission SHOW_ASSIGNED_TASKS_TAB_FIRST which will configure by role whether the workscope or assigned tasks tab should appear by default when opening work packages. Prior to this change, the workscope tab is the one to open first, if a workscope was generated. For planning roles, most of the work is done from the Assigned Tasks tab. This role configuration has removed one page load from the user workflows for users and roles that predominantly work with blocks and requirements, rather than on execution.

Please refer to the 8.3-SP5 release notes for more information in the section titled ‘Customizing tab order on Work Package Details page’. The topic is also documented in the Administration Guide.
