Southwest Airlines is currently does not track wheel and brake inventory within Maintenix. We are exploring the possibility of adding the inventory.
I am reaching out to other Maintenix users on if they manage their wheel and brake tracking within Maintenix? And any pros and cons you may have on it.
ATSG has tracked the wheels and brakes in Maintenix since go live. It works fine for us, just like any other piece of inventory. We only track the final assembly that gets installed onto the aircraft, as we do not repair the wheels and brakes internally, ABX or ATI.
Qantas also use Maintenix for all inventory tracking, we do track sub-assys. (hubs, tyre etc)
More specifically notating the complex shop arrangements for wheels, 6 minor repairs, 1 major.
This requires 7 task definitions in a creates loop.
Copa Airlines also use Maintenix to track wheels and brakes since go live. We do track wheels sub components: inner and outer halves and the tire itself. Our wheel & Brake shops control all disassembly/assembly and repair and overhaul, with task definitions for each process and digital signoff for every task and the data collected allows to measure and control workflow within the shop.
