Hi,

Scenario:

We have an employee not working on a set schedule and project time reporting.

Reality could look like working 10 hours on a Monday, 4 hours on a Thursday and then not working again for two weeks.

I’ve tried different schedule scenarios and Time Base, Time Registration Base, Rule Types, Parameter List, Wage Codes – you name it.

No matter what I do we can’t seem to get more hours than 8 to Results (unless I change Work Hours Sum in Day-by-Day schedules) while reporting 10 hours project reporting.

We want this employee to be able to report his project time without having a set schedule with already defined hours. Is that even possible? We want the project reporting hours to match the hours going to Results. If possible, what needs to be done to set this up?

This Employee is not entitled to Overtime compensation.

Hi,

I have an ongoing case regarding this with IFS support / RnD right now.

In general you can say that you can never get more normal hours in your attendance time than you have on your schedule. That makes sense - the employee has to enter flex or overtime then selves.

But for a “gross time employee” it should be different

What I think is that if you have an employee with “gross time reporting” you should be able to have a 0-schedule (no real planned time) if you have set the parameter list to include a “standard time” for gross time.

This doesn’t work however.. so if you have (for example a consultant) with a 0 schedule now that person has to report project time and attendance time separately.

I’ll keep you updated on the progress on my case

Regards,

Maria

Hi Maria,

Thank you so much for replying!

I totally agree with you and I believe that this is a common scenario in a lot of organizations. Crossing my fingers that IFS agree. Looking forward to updates.

Best regards,

Anna

Created an idea for this since support cannot handle this but RnD understands the request.

“However, we fully understand the importance of this requirement and acknowledge that this is a new scenario for us. While this behavior is not supported in the standard application, we see potential value in exploring this functionality further. That said, introducing this capability would require treating it as an enhancement request rather than a support issue.”

Please upvote the idea Time Registration - Normal time should be generated also for employees with Gross time reporting | IFS Community
