Hi everyone,

I’m looking for guidance on whether there is a standard functionality in IFS Cloud that allows administrators to lock time registrations from the previous week, preventing users from making any amendments once the week has ended, apart from the Time Authorization functionality.

The goal is to ensure data consistency and avoid retroactive changes after a defined cutoff point (e.g., every Tuesday morning for the prior week).

Does IFS Cloud offer any out-of-the-box configuration or process for this? If not, are there any recommended best practices or common workarounds (such as custom events, permissions, or background jobs) that others have used to achieve this behavior?

Thanks in advance for your help!

HI @Timasha  you could use the transfer to payroll functionality to ‘lock’ the time registration for the previous week and then any changes would need to be done through the change transferred results screen.

Kind Regards

Rachel

Thank you so much for your response!

But currently we do not use the payroll interface functionality. Therefore, is there anything else we could try?

@Timasha you do not have to be transferring data to payroll using an interface to have the Transfer to payroll functionality.

If you do not want to use this you can use the company properties to restrict editing authorised transactions but this does not allow you to define the period that cannot be edited

Thank you for the clarification, @R Lum WaiHero.

I’ll take your response into consideration as we evaluate the best approach for our needs.
