Hello HCM experts!

On 24R1, three setup choices called configuration type. 

I’m already familiar with the first one. What is the add value with the two other types?

Which one is the easiest to setup? Feel free to send any documentation that could help for this choice.

New configuration types are introduced to facilitate the functionality introduced as Global People and Manager Assignments. Assigning supervisors and access using Organizations and Positions can be complex and not fit for all type of team hierarchies. Therefore, this new setup done through  the Team and Supervisor set up will be useful to define/Indirect supervisors and subordinates easily.

If you Select ‘Supervisor from Team and Supervisor Setup , supervisors will be derived based on team/supervisor assignment done through the pages Team, Supervisor and Team Assignments in which you can define the Direct Supervisor, Access Role, Validity periods etc.

If you have data for both these set ups, (Organization/positions and Team/Supervisor), you can give the priority to Team and Supervisor Set up if you select Priority to Team and Supervisor Setup.

this is a really good development. Are we able to use this option between different company units?

Like supervisor is working on company A and subordinates/reporting staff are working in company B and C? Currently we have company organization structure in every units, and it’s not working as we would like it to be. Could this team & supervisor setup configuration be option instead of Matrix organization setup?
