Hello,
how do I set up the automatic conversion of annual leave entitlement from e.g. 25 days to entitlement for an employee who started on 1 September, i.e. to automatically reduce the entitlement according to the start date?

Thank you
Good Afternoon,
Let me explain how I set ours up, and hopefully you can get some ideas on how you can use it.
In the absence configuration page there are some tick boxes which can be considered, but these depend on how the employee file is setup.
I use the Assignment Type in the Organisation Assignment table

With this, it tells IFS how many days a week this employee is working.
So on the Absence Configuration page on the Absence Group you can tell IFS what it should consider when generating annual leave

Absence Consider Assignment:
This looks at the Organisation Assignment (First Picture) and works out the full entitlement by a %. So 5/5 is 100%, 4/5 is 80%, 3/5 is 60%, 2/5 is 40%, 1/5 is 20%.
Absence Consider Emp Period:
With this checked, IFS will then take in consideration the employee start date and will also proportion the entitlement to when they started.
Absence Consider Prop:
If this check box is selected absence limits are presented proportionally to the employment period.
With these checked and set to 5/5 someone entitled to 25 days will get 25 days.
But, if someone starts partway they get less. Example I had recently:
Employee starts 02/06/2025 - They get 25 days entitlement standard, and work 5 days per week. But as they started late IFS calculated their entitlement to be 15 days.
I hope this helps.
