Hi, Regarding the use and management of QR Codes in Alliance a customer asks us about what is your feedback and recommendations with the 3 applications mentioned applications (employees, mobility and Client Web portal) ?Is there a setting provided in Astea to indicate the fields to be retrieved in a QR Code?we have a use case with a QR code that will contain the following 3 data :-Product Number-Designation-Serial NumberThe objective is for the applications to process these 3 Data in one Scan.What is your opinion on the possibility of processing this data ? Hi, the question below has been asked on february the 6, and our customer has exactly the same problem. For some service order, the status don’t change from “SA in route” when the SA start activity. Do you know the reason why we have such cases ? bskallerud has created a topic titled " Alliance 15: Service orders do not change status for some SAs " on the subforum Alliance . We have service orders where the status do not change from “SA in route” when the SA start activity (we expect the status to be On site). This is both in mobile and backend (Dispatch Console, Web Employee Portal). Set up?

We have our Product Center integrated with our “system of record” so the COST of items is sent over when ever it updates. We have the need to create Purchase Req’s for items that we do not have a “cost” for. When that cost is updated in our system of record, it is not updating in the Product Center since we have open purchase reqs for it. Is this a setting that can be updated on my side?

We have a few nodes we no longer want to use - but if we try to delete we get a message saying: I can not find an option for flagging a node as obsolete. Is there a sure-fire way to make sure a node can not be used?

Hi, I create a customized field in Service order, i want to add this customized field to the xml schema in Process Flow outbound message. But the Customized field is not visible to select in the schema. My already existing cst fields are visible, but the new create field not. Must i refresh a service to see the new customized field in the schema to select it? I try it on a existing outbound message schema and in a new created outbound message. in both the new cst field is not visible. Thanks Robin

Is there a MOE which control which type of attachments can be available on the mobile device service order ? For example we have attachemnts on customera nd contracts when i create a service order under a contract and customer which have some attachments o on the mobile device we can see those attachment . we don’t want for example the attachment on contracts to be available on mobile. thanks for your feedback Rgds Christophe

We mark the product as obsolete but that product didn’t removed from the technician warehouse as well as he is still able to select those products while order material from mobile. What could be the best way to remove obsolete products from the all technician warehouse? We are using Astea Alliance version 14.

Question from my service team: is it possible to add a note to a problem code, and have this note show up in Mobile? We have certain problem codes where specific texts would be very helpful for both backend and SAs to have automatically clearly visible on the service order. The question may be if it is a big customization? Or possible with Mobile Customizer?

Hi all We are looking into the feasibility of batch tracking in Astea/Astea mobile. We are currently in the exploratory phase, and any advice or ideas are much appreciated. The products in question are bottles/containers that we deliver to customers (and later pick up) or use as part of service. Serialisation is not an option due to the demands this would put on logistics. My idea is to have a bar code sticker (+print) on the product that is a combination of product id + batch (so it will have to be removed/added as part of production). The SA will then just scan the products upon delivery/pick up, and this will automatically update the service order with the products + batches. Volume and ease of use are essential: an SA may do 20-25 deliveries a day, and each deliveries may include 2 to 15 products delivered and the same number picked up.

I have one of my UAT publisher servers throwing error message “ Publisher: UAT V15 15.0 is not available at this moment. Please check your network connection or contact your system administrator. ” when downloading the customization updates I can replicate error from server by setting the URL to local host. Neither an IIS reset, or restart server resolved issue. No application updates in several months I did add another profile recently KDIFF shows a couple of “deltas” in the Publisher Customizations folder

Hello We have an issue for one of our customers, on process flow when we work with sub document. On their development environment when we create a simple process flow on event on the service order module we add a condition on the “activity” sub document with simple action this is working. Is it possible to make the Resolve Failure Code not mandatory in Service Orders with a Time and Material Contracts, only mandatory for service Orders with a Customer Contract ? Now we have selected “Never” to be always mandatory. What do the selections highlighted in yellow below mean, how works the functionality of those 2 selections? We have issues where data on mobile gets stale (out of synch with system data) - in particular affecting logistics and van warehouse inventory. Getting the user to change user when logging on solves this - but is there a way to force full mobile update at specific intervals without the SA having to change user?

Hi, For a customer process, we would like to scan a barcode upon the transaction Miscellaneous Receive to receive many parts serialized (more than 100 line for a Reception).This transaction is not available in the warehouse mobile.
